Laurie Kelley - President

Laurie Kelley

Laureen A. Kelley was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and received her bachelor's degree in child psychology and development from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She worked as a psychologist with handicapped children for four years before earning her master's degree in international economics and business from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She worked for six years as an economic consultant at DRI/McGraw-Hill in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Laurie is the mother of a child with hemophilia, and founded LA Kelley Communications, Inc. in 1990 to provide practical educational materials for families. She is the author of ten books on bleeding disorders, including Raising a Child With Hemophilia and A Guide to Living With von Willebrand Disease. Laurie is the founder and editor of the quarterly Parent Empowerment Newsletter. She also founded Project SHARE, a humanitarian program that donates millions of dollars worth of blood-clotting medicine annually to impoverished patients in developing countries.

Laurie is also founder and president of Save One Life, a nonprofit child sponsorship agency for children with bleeding disorders in developing countries. She lives in Georgetown, Massachusetts, and has three adult children. Laurie enjoys traveling, reading biographies and playing classical piano. Zoraida Rosado - Director of Operations;
Director, Project SHARE

Zoraida Rosado

Zoraida Rosado manages all aspects of our international humanitarian program. This includes: maintaining the factor inventory; shipping factor donations; handling all international correspondences; following up with patients to ensure they are safely treated; and providing detailed monthly reports of all shipments to colleagues within the hemophilia community. In addition, Zoraida manages our extensive mailing lists and book order fulfillments, and coordinates travel plans. A native of Puerto Rico, she speaks Spanish fluently, and handles all Spanish correspondences and translations. Zoraida has a degree in business administration from Northern Essex Community College. Before joining LA Kelley Communications, Zoraida worked as an executive assistant for Starensier, Inc., where she supported the CEO and vice president of sales. Prior to that, she was an executive assistant for seven years for the financial and information systems departments at Ferraz Shawmut.

Tara Kelley – Director, Database Management

Tara Kelley

Tara is Laurie's oldest daughter. She attended Warren Wilson College and was enrolled in the writing/literature/publishing program at Emerson College in Boston. Her duties at LA Kelley Communications include editing publications, expanding and updating the databases and mailing lists, and occasionally transporting medical product donations to nearby non-profit organizations. She also assists Zoraida with Project SHARE tasks and factor shipments.

Sara Prisland Evangelos - Editor, Writer


Sara Prisland Evangelos is a freelance writer and editor. She is a partner in JAS Group Writing and Editorial Services, addressing the communication needs of clients in the area of human services. Sara edits, writes and contributes to books, journals, newsletters, brochures, grant proposals and reports. She is also a published poet. Sara earned her bachelor's degree in writing and psychology from the University of Illinois, and received advanced training in technical writing and editing from Northeastern University. She has worked for LA Kelley Communications since 1995.

Paul Clement - Science Editor

Paul Clement is a retired high school science teacher who has written extensively for the hemophilia community. For the past 16 years, he has been science editor for LA Kelley Communications' numerous publications, including the Parent Empowerment Newsletter. He is co-author of the book Managing Your Child's Inhibitor. Paul is especially adept at translating complex topics into easy-to-understand language. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in science education from California State Polytechnic University. Paul lives in Southern California with his wife Linda and their two adult children, Erika and Brett, who has severe hemophilia A.



Jessica O'Donnell - Manager, Publications

Jessica manages various publications for LA Kelley Communications, including our quarterly newsletter PEN and our annual newsletter Pulse. She handles all aspects of preparing each issue, including placement of ads, contacting writers, editing, communicating with the internal team, and ensuring deadlines are met. With a degree in journalism and professional writing, Jess has a passion for all things publishing. Jessica currently serves on the executive board for a local family-based nonprofit, The Mother Connection. Prior to working with LA Kelley Communications, she spent several years writing for and managing a variety of publications.

Jess lives in Massachusetts with her husband James and their three children. She enjoys writing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys volunteering within the local community. She began working with LA Kelley Communications in 2016.

Amanda Wendt - Director, Digital Media

Amanda Wendt

Amanda Wendt manages all digital media including the web site, and e-communications. Amanda earned her bachelor's degree in communications/journalism from the University of Connecticut. Prior to freelancing with LA Kelley Communications, she headed up executive communications for Bayer Pharmaceutical, supporting the video, presentation and staging needs of Bayer's president and senior staff. She began working with LA Kelley Communications in 2002.

Tracy Brody - Graphic Designer

Tracy Brody

Tracy works on a variety of graphic projects: she designs our quarterly newsletter PEN, our annual newsletter Pulse, all the books we produce in-house, such as the My First Factor series and Raising a Child With Hemophilia, posters, logos, and more. Tracy earned her bachelor's degree in liberal studies from the Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to freelancing with LA Kelley Communications, she worked in the graphics department for Bayer Pharmaceutical, supporting the graphics needs of Bayer's president and senior staff. She began working with LA Kelley Communications in 1999.
